As you may already know, the TOEFL iBT examination tests many features of your English language ability.
TOEFL iBT Vocabulary and Idioms:
In order to achieve a high score on the new TOEFL iBT, you will need very high level English vocabulary. You will also need to understand American English idioms for the TOEFL iBT exam. For this reason, you should pay essential attention to learning idioms, practicing them, fulfilling tasks involving your knowledge of vocabulary and idioms. In the process of preparing you can enroll for the TOEFL course or prepare individually (alone or with coach) with a help of free Internet resources or special books (Better is to use new books as they contain tasks similar to those of previous years). If you learn the key words that have been used on the past TOEFL iBT tests, you will be able to perform well on the day of your iBT TOEFL.
TOEFL iBT Grammar:
Of course, you will also need advanced English grammar for the TOEFL iBT examination. You need to learn the key features of American English grammar that examiners look for on the TOEFL iBT. You can use special TOEFL manuals, general English grammar textbooks and any other resources your English trainer recommend.
TOEFL iBT Listening:
Listening skills are also of key importance for your performance on the new iBT TOEFL. This is because the listening, speaking, and writing portions of the new internet-based test contain lectures that you will listen to and comment on. If you live in non-English speaking enviroment and want to get high scores at the test you need to organize listening practice for you individually (video- and audiotapes, dvd etc.).
TOEFL iBT Practice Tests:
Some TOEFL courses that prepare students for the test offer some practice tests for the TOEFL iBT before you take the actual iBT TOEFL test. These practice tests help you get used to the new TOEFL test format because they provide exam tips and advice.
